Synopsis
The movie begins with opening credits that show the place in a messy and chaotic condition, then the camera will lead to the outside area showing a burning van followed by a woman screaming. This scene seems contradictory to the classical music score in the background.
Then the story turns to a group of people traveling to a place called Kolarangen. It is known that this group is city government employees who are preparing to build a mall.
There are 9 people who make this preparation. One character named Lina is shown looking unenthusiastic. Then there is the boss, Ingela, and Jonas, the man who is the leader of this project. In addition, there are also six other employees who are also present in the group. In preparation for the inauguration of the mall, the nine people stay at a tourist lodge.
Then the conflict between Lina and Jonas begins during the meeting. This is because Lina just realized that her signature was on a letter of agreement that does not seem to provide welfare for landowners. In which the landowners who live in the mall construction area are forced to move without being rewarded accordingly. The difference in views between Lina, who serves as the protagonist, and the annoying Jonas makes this coworker's overnight session seem intense and full of intrigue.
On the other hand, there is a mysterious man who is hunting everyone in the tourist lodge. The action starts with killing the lodge employees, then continues with the nine guests. Inevitably all targets try to survive the pursuit of this man.
Coment about "The Conference"
The plot of the movie is not clear because at the beginning of the story we are not told the purpose and intention of a group of people who come to a place, and an inn employee who works at the place who is suddenly killed by a psychopathic killer without being told the purpose of the person being killed.
"And until the end, we are not told who the killer is and his purpose."
The acting of the characters is so animated that we can feel what is happening. The setting supports the murder scene and the lighting is suitable for a horror movie. And also cool audio visuals so that it can add to the feeling in the movie to be more real.
Conclusion about "The Conference"
In the initial duration of the movie, it feels slow, although there is a tense scene when the killer finishes off the inn staff. However, the intense scenes are only felt in the last half of the movie.
Having a duration of 1 hour 40 minutes, the movie The Conference is less recommended because new viewers will be confused about the storyline, but the audience is presented with extraordinary acting from the actors and a tense and tense atmosphere so that the movie setting is felt.
That was good
